Marvin Gaye

I think this is a great song. You can definetly tell what time period it is when Mr. Gaye wrote this songs. He's singing about political issues going on in his world, like the war in Vietnam and i personally feel like the songs that talk about real things going on in the world are way more interesting then just random meaningles crap.
I feel like the message in this song is "what are we doing to ourselfs". This is a call and response song and after every verse Marvin sings about something crazy going on in the United States the back up singers will replay with "whats going on". To me this mean "why are we doing the things were doing here" and it almost makes you feel like its common sense how stupid some of these things are that were doing.
