Minimalistic Works

The one Minimalistic Works I like the most was Philip Glass- Opening and the one I liked the least was In C by Terry Riley. These two piece had drastic differences between them and didn’t even sound like they were in the same genre. While one was abrupt and annoy the other one was very fluid and soothing.
The reason I like the Philip Glass piece the most is because it was a much more luxurious sound to it, it sounded like something on a Lexus commercial. Another good thing about this tune was that it didn’t have such an eerie tone to it like the others did. The piano piece was actually peaceful and fluid unlike the other two pieces that were choppy and annoying. All around I thought the southing melody of this piece was awesome, and it helped me relax a little.
The piece I liked the least was In C by Terry Riley. The piece was choppy, rough and very off tune. It didn’t flow at all like “Opening” did, and I couldn’t get more than 2 minutes into without having to fast forward it. It also had a scary tone to it, and it gives me the mental picture of someone being chased in an abandoned house. I strongly disliked everything about this individual piece of music.
An awesome Minimalistic work I found on youtube was GCSE Music - Minimalist Composition. This piece was very intense but cool and relaxed at the same time. At parts it sped up and almost felt like a chase scene but then during the break downs it really mellowed out. I all around thought this piece was really cool and kind of trippy. I really like the part at 2:38 when it sounds like a bass comes in and the melody gets changed again.
